07/17/2009 2009 Lace & Pearls Lawn Fete

La Rabida is hosting their 5th annual Lace & Pearls Lawn Fete and Fashion Show from 6-10 pm on July 16th at La Rabida Hospital. There will be performances by Chicago’s South Shore Drill Team, and a buffet to feast on prepared by many great chefs including la petite folie of Hyde Park; Lagniappe Creole Cajun Joynt; Gibson’s Steak House; Washburne Culinary Institute’s Parrot Cage Restaurant; Chef Morrie Elstien; and Starz Custom Catering. Tickets are $75 a person, or $725 for a table of ten. Proceeds will benefit La Rabida Hospital.

07/21-22/2009 Daley Plaza Sidewalk Sale

Heat up your summer by heading to the Daley Plaza at 50 W. Washington St. on July 21 and 22 to experience a fashion heat wave put on by Fashion Focus Chicago and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.

On July 22nd from 1130 am until 130 pm and Union League Club,65 w Jackson Blvd., Women of the World are Hosting “Fashion Face Forward” with special guest Dr. Sandy Goldberg. A fabulous luncheon where local Chicago designers including Yana German, Lauren Lein and Katy McKechnie will be showcasing their work and some proceeds will benefit a Silver Lining Foundation. Tickets are $40 a person or $400 to reserve a table of ten.
